Term 4 starts Monday 9th October 2017

Term 4 begins at Holy Spirit Primary School St Clair on Monday 9th October 2017 at 8:50am.

Students should wear their full summer uniform which includes a school hat that students will need for all outside activities including playing at recess and lunchtime. Please note that sports uniform items are not interchangeable with the regular school uniform.

School uniforms are supplied by Oz Fashions. Orders can either be placed through the App or by email or phone. Full details are available in the Parent Handbook.

Monte's Canteen will continue to offer full canteen service facilities during Term 4 including freshly made sandwiches to order and a variety of hot food and delicious, nutritious snacks as well as refreshing drinks and ice blocks.

Hot Dog Day as the 1st Wednesday of the month, will once again feature, as well as the opportunity to order your child birthday cupcakes to share with their friends on their special day (please order the day before).

Excursion Packs will also be available via pre order. This pack includes recess and lunch in a carry bag which is delivered to the classroom in time for students to take on their excursion.

A canteen note will be sent home with students regarding menu prices, Hot Dog Day and Excursion Packs.

Attendance Notice from the Principal

Important Attendance Update

As you know it is very important that children attend school every day. Quite often leave is requested by parents for various reasons. While we understand that this may be necessary sometimes, it is not encouraged as every school day is important for every child.

If you intend taking your child out of school for five days or more you must make a formal application in writing and fill out an application for extended leave which is available from the school office. It is important for you to know that this leave may not be granted and depends on circumstances such as the intention for the leave, your child’s attendance, and the impact the leave may have on your child’s academic progress.

Principals have been advised that for extended periods of leave for holidays, students be marked as absent.

I have also received advice that children who are kept home from school because of weather conditions such as wind, rain, heat etc are to be marked as unjustifiable leave. Partial absence (being late) with the reason that the child ‘slept in’ is also classed as unjustifiable leave.

These regulations are in place to make sure that your child achieves to his/her full potential and I know you will understand the reasoning behind them.

Kind Regards

Anne Hines
